Taking on the MRL996 silhouette, the collaborators have given the sneakers a red leather upper with reflective grey hits at the vamp and heel, complemented by subtle reptile leather accents, while a white REVLITE midsole and black outsole offer both stability and cushioning, while also providing for a classic look. Elsewhere, branding from both labels are placed on the insole.

I love what New Balance has done in the past years or so to really rebrand their aesthetic approach and brought back as well as created designs that have caught the attention of fashionistas around the world. With respectable collaborations including this one, I hope to see them continue along this path and keep bringing us good products.

JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARCONS MAN 2010 Fall/Winter Brogues

Re-working a traditional brogue shoe, JUNYA WATANABE has created a timeless wing tip design in two colorways as part of the COMME des GARCONS MAN 2010 fall/winter range. Both versions are now available in-store at Dover Street Market and select stockists around the globe.

People have been talking about these shoes looked simple but if its the little things that count. The stitching is incredible and the material of the shoe itself has to be of best quality. As they say, you pay for what you get.

Working with a “Techno-couture” theme for the 2010 Fall/Winter collection, JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARCONS MAN have just released some shirts from their 2010 fall/winter collection. The collection mixes fashion with technicality in familiar style and incorporates a number of different proportions and patterns, including a gentle use of checks, as seen on these shirts. The entire collection is available across the globe at select stockists from today.

These look real nice. I might just cop one for my grad outfit next year, put in a bowtie and look super fresh. Anyways, I’ve always like checkered button ups and Junya Watanabe just takes its to a whole other level. The extra patching and the combination of colors go so well together its incredible. Even though some people said these releases were weak, I’m still convinced that these are real works of art.

Junya Watanabe Baracuta Jacket Fall/Winter 2009

Once again Junya Watanabe worked with Baracuta on their classic G4 jacket for Fall/Winter 2009. The zip jacket has adjustable sides and cuffs, a buttoned collar and a vented back area. The waxy blue cotton and nylon mix surface is finished with a soft plaid lining on the inside. The jacket is now available from Tres Bien.

SICK, the blue is incredible. The jacket is incredible. The designer is incredible. What more is there to say other than: I Need This Now!

Junya Watanabe’s Fall/Winter 2009 collection is to include two vibrant jackets. Sharing both the style and silhouette of classic hunting jackets, these new jackets are a bold statement. A solid set of details and strong colours make both jackets stand-out.

YUP, once again… Junya Watanabe, one of the best designers of our day has proven so. With the bright red and light blue, these two jackets are sure to make people’s head turns on the street. Two remarkable pieces of clothing. I wish I could get my hands on both of them…. Too bad I’m not making my own money yet.

eYe JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARCONS Hong Kong Shop 1st Anniversary

Celebrating its 1st anniversary, eYe JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARCONS Hong Kong will release a special commemorative totebag to mark the event. Despite only being a year old, the store has under-gone some additional renovations and will re-open on July 18th with this denim totebag going on sale for $700 HKD (approximately $90 USD).

Some people may think, playing 90 USD for a bag??!! Common now, what does it say on the bag? “Comme des Garcons”, anything from this brand is expected to be high priced. Also, the bag commemorates the one year anniversary of the store, which is very nice, simple and minimalistic design. For the time I’ve been in Hong Kong, I’ve been there a few times, and can’t wait to see the one in Tokyo, Japan.

Creating a fashionable series of footwear which embodies a certain outdoor design, this comes courtesy of a Vibram Christy outsole often seen on outdoor brands such as Danner. The upper comes in the form of a slim, wingtip motif. Boots in suede and leather as well as leather derby styles are part of the mix.
